Joining us this month is the largest species of falcon in the world, the gyrfalcon. This arctic bird is a rare visitor to Colorado and perfectly at home on the snowy tundra, and the wild, rocky shores of far northern countries such as Iceland, Canada, Norway, and the state of Alaska. REF’s gyrfalcon is the rarest color, the black morph native to the Labrador cliffs of Canada.
